Here are three ways to get started.
Find out where the arrest happened
Start with the town, county, or beach community where the person was arrested. If you know which police department or agency made the arrest, that can also help.
Confirm where the person is being held
Check the county's official inmate search, if available, or contact the appropriate jail or arresting agency. The person may not be held near the place of arrest. Confirm their location before traveling.
Check whether bond has been set
If bond information is available, write down the amount and type of bond. If nothing appears yet, the information may still be pending. It does not necessarily mean the person has been denied release.
Start with the person's full name, date of birth if known, and where the arrest happened. If you have a booking number or bond information, keep that handy too.

Each county handles booking and jail release procedures through its own local facilities. Knowing where someone is being held helps you find the right information and understand what happens next.
A judge or magistrate decides whether someone can be released before trial and what conditions must be met. A bail bond agent does not make those decisions.
